Great Minds are Young

There are times when I feel hurtfully in love with everything and everyone around me. Well, yes, despite being such a beautiful and peaceful feeling,  its intensity may break you into pieces. It becomes such a strong and overwhelming feeling that you start losing a good part of your freedom and spontaneity.

These painful but sweet strong emotions may be mixed blessings.

They give you unprecedented, somehow supernatural, powers when your beloved ones are in need or threatened. You may work like never before, fight and challenge the whole world, support and defend wholeheartedly and to the extreme. You love and give unconditionally, sacrifice and dedicate your life with ultimate compassion and devotion. You never give up, never get tired, never feel down. You’re always energetic and enthusiastic and in a lot of instances aggressively supportive despite all the exhaustion or challenges you may be experiencing but not consciously admitting…

Sweet…

However, those same strong emotions may weaken you to the extreme and strip you off your strong will and determination. Your fear soars and your adventurous soul drowns. A lot of times, you feel helpless and submissive, anxious and feeble. Loss and separation are your worst enemies; over-protection and emotional instability are your best friends.

Painful…

Despite their pain and because of their sweetness those deep and strong emotions are so beautiful and healthy should they be balanced and well celebrated. It’s so divine to fiercely protect, support and fight for your loved ones and be super strong for them but at the same time surrender to that beautiful feeling and allow yourself some sweet unharmful obsession over them.

It’s my birthday and I have to make a wish…
I will close my eyes for a moment and wish from the bottom of my heart that time would go much slower… And No, it’s not a typical female wish… I am not afraid to grow older and have some wrinkles or lose my glow (if I had one anyway).

I want time to go slower for me to better enjoy and savor every moment with my kids and loved ones.

I need time to go slower to laugh, love, pray, give, share, apologize, cherish and appreciate more and more.

I want time to go slower to make up for every lost or missed opportunity, to dream more and achieve a lot more…

I wish time would go slower for me because I simply need more time to do my way all what I do…

Today witnesses the beginning of a merry month marked by lots of love, forgiveness, good spirit, sharing, and festivity; a merry month marked by the birth of the Savior, the rebirth of humankind…

Today also witnesses the beginning of the end of a  year that witnessed all kinds of experiences and emotions, lots of ups and downs, lots of disappointments but also good surprises, lots of aggression and negativity but also love, care and tenderness, lots of nonchalance put also enthusiasm…

Today should most importantly witness the beginning of a new me and the end of the ‘usual’ me; a new me that doesn’t necessarily contradict the old me, but rather complement, support and add value to the old me. A new me that is just like me…

We all meet and know a considerably huge number of people; some we like, some we don’t, and some are tasteless to the point that we can’t even decide whether we like them or not. Some remain good friends, some become ‘less favorable” and some just pass by without leaving a single trail.

Among those we like are very few “inspiring angels” and “smile ambassadors” (or at least that’s what I like to call them) you can’t help but smile when they cross your mind, you hear their names, or see their faces. This smile could be a smile of comfort, appreciation, admiration, positive energy, reliability, mere joy, or any other serene and comforting quality. Those people are blessed, as the people they have them around are blessed too.

It’s great to have some of those people around, and it’s even greater to be one of those people who make others smile… It’s true that for some it just comes naturally, but I do believe that a good heart filled with pure, unconditional love and charity can turn anyone and everyone to one of those beautiful people.

What do you think?

Young Egyptian Farida Al Sayed is sharing with us today a new piece of thought. While surfing the net, she came across a quotation she thought it was inspiring and made her reflect on a lot of things. She wrote:

“Sometimes, or most of the times, teenagers tend to hate any task given to them, whether homework or house chores like cleaning up or washing the dishes. I myself hate having to do anything like such, and most of the time I would have to do it by force. It really feels bad to have to do something by force because then you would do it in a wrong way or mess up and get nothing done. I came across a quote that said “Do what you love to love what you do “. At first I thought it was related to what job I’d end up with in the future, or something like that. After thinking deeply about it, I realized that there was something I could do that would help me very much when doing anything, even chores!

I thought that, what if I try to think of something to make me do whatever it is  that I’m doing with love ? Maybe while washing the dishes, I could imagine how happy my mom would be or even how clean the sink would look like once I’m done? Or while cleaning my room, I could think how clean it would be after I’m done, then maybe I can light some candles, sit back and relax !? I’ll be really good to just try to imagine myself mastering a piece of art, and once I’m done, take a step back and admire the work done with love!

I personally like to think how good the thing I’m doing will be after I’m done, and that is what makes my chores bearable!

What would make yours bearable?”

Rabia Nasir Mir is a 13-year-old very sensitive young lady who expresses her thoughts and feelings trough short free verse poems. Today, she’s sharing with us two major topics or thoughts that have been preoccupying her for some time: ‘Child labor’ and ‘Love’.

Enjoy!

Child labor
Why am I born?
To serve?
To be enslaved?
NO
To be free
To be me
Not to be… Child laborer

Love
Love is an emotion
That needs no operation
That needs no commotion
You feel a state of exaltation
You get a retribution
Love is invincible
Rejoice when you get it
The imposter will not last long
And will be perished

“A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.”  Unknown Author

Being a parent I totally understand and appreciate the beautiful meaning of this quote! It does mean the whole world to the parents, and namely the fathers, to know that their kids see and know and appreciate all they do for them, not because parents expect an appreciation of any kind, it’s just that their ultimate wish is that their kids would share with them the same kind of unconditional love.

My dad is a truly rich man! I hope my husband would be one too 🙂
