Great Minds are Young

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.” Charles Darwin (1809-1882)

Drastic change has always been my greatest enemy, and I’ve always had a lot of it in my life!! Temporary instability and uncertainty that accompany change makes me totally uncomfortable and frustrated, and that’s not good at all!

As a matter of fact, change has to be one of the best things that could happen to anyone. It’s change that creates memories, spices up the boring routine life, makes people face new challenges and overcome them, and makes them feel alive and constantly freshened up and new.

The ability to embrace change and quickly cope with new life styles and circumstances shapes up great personalities and gives people the ability to move forward and preserve a very positive attitude and perception of life.

Despite all the changes in my life, which I eventually conquered and benefited from at all levels, I am still fighting to embrace change with open arms and heart with no hesitation whatsoever. In truth, routine kills the best of moments and never creates memories. Life is too precious and too rich to be wasted in stagnation; let’s not just be too afraid to live it to the fullest and wildest extent.

Imagine that, when you close your eyes and gaze into this vast dark space, you’re looking into your mind. Imagine that your memories, people, feelings, fears, and perhaps your future are addresses that you can visit. Try it, and wander around; it feels great! And see for yourself that when you look hard enough you will find a little special something that I call your goody bag. In this goody bag you will find your talent and a great sense of knowing what is important to you. In that goody bag you may find your happiness, so look hard, very hard. Keep doing it even if it takes you years because your happiness is worth it.

Enjoy that trip!

Young Egyptian Nada Al Dash, who always has a lot of interesting talents and experiences to share, is sharing with us today some of her best memories; her “La La Memories.” She says: “La La memories are imaginary memories; things that I thought they would never happen, but I have lived them and I would like to share them with all of you.”

La La memories

 La la memories we had

Some were good, some were bad

But in this picture we had so much fun

It was such a beautiful day especially with the bright sun

Usually mama doesn’t laugh in pictures like this,

But in this one you wouldn’t imagine the things my father did

Oh, too many la la memories we had

And the outdoors were not so bad

In this picture

You can see the glance
of my sister’s smile

The goofiness of my brother’s arrival

Too many good times

Too many great shines

You wouldn’t imagine how many laughs we had

Of course they were all good not bad

We played, danced, and sang

Sounds were loud, too many phones that rang

Wow! Too many laughs we had

In the park with the beautiful, and colorful flowers

My baby cousins thinking they have powers

Standing behind a huge tower

It was an amazing park indeed

I love my family and friends, I do

And I’ll cherish theses la la memories forever too

We laughed so hard

Many people thought we were funk

Many people thought we were drunk

Many people thought we were crazy

Many people thought we were Just lazy

I love these la la memories

Soon there will be more la la memories to remember

But right now I will cherish this one forever.

Tomorrow is a big and very emotional day! It’s the end of a wonderful journey and the beginning of a hopefully special and fruitful one…

A journey throughout which I met a very special group of young ladies that was one of the most powerful sources of inspiration to me. A journey that was marked with a lot of special moments; a lot of ups and very little downs. A journey during which we all learned, talked, shared stories, played, laughed, danced, cried, yelled, created, and did all sorts of things together. But most importantly, a journey throughout which we pushed each other to the limits. A journey throughout which teacher and students brought the best out of each other…

It’s true that tomorrow is the end of the journey the way we’ve experienced it so far, but it is for sure the beginning of a new journey the way we shape it and the way we want it to be.

It’s true that I’ll miss a lot of our moments, but it is also true that we’ll create new memorable ones in a new different way.

It’s true that some people just sneak into your heart and it would be hard to grow apart from them, but it is also true that if they were in your heart they’re never away or apart…
